PROJECT DESCRIPTION
NCOD came to us with a problem: They had many forms, and their current process involved visiting homes to fill out these forms on paper. Afterward, they would return to their office to enter all the data into their system.
This process was time-consuming and prone to errors. The solution was to develop an application for various government entities in the Netherlands, enabling them to complete their forms digitally with integrated data analysis. Now, employees can fill out forms digitally while visiting homes, and all the data is immediately available online. This eliminates the need to transfer data from paper forms into their current application, thereby saving time and reducing errors.
BEHIND THE SCENES
My role in this project involved advising on technical aspects and actively contributing to the development. This was one of the most complex projects I have tackled, primarily because it was designed for government use, necessitating exceptionally high security standards. Our tech stack included Next.js, React.js, Tailwind CSS, and Supabase. Users can log into the application using their Microsoft accounts, which are assigned by the municipalities they work for.
Our primary goal was to create a structure that could support numerous forms. We developed a system that utilizes reusable React components to assemble digital forms. These components can be combined to create forms accessible to all employees linked to the application.
We also implemented a full API server to handle all data traffic between users and the application, and we developed complex data analysis algorithms to meet the administrative needs.
The project's scale warranted the use of Agile methodologies, specifically Scrum, to manage its complexity effectively. I collaborated with international team members, including designers, in a development group comprising four developers, including myself.
